Our story

How it all started.

In the summer of 2020, in Ghent, Belgium, our founder Wout had just graduated with a degree in IT. Before jumping into the job market, he decided to build a tool to help out his dad’s travel agency. That side project? It spiralled into something much bigger. A few years later, Lato is helping travel professionals around the world simplify their operations, grow their business, and better serve their travellers. Wout’s dad’s agency is still our most loyal beta tester, offering feedback, cheering us on, and keeping us grounded. But today, we’re building Lato alongside hundreds of travel pros who shape our product roadmap and challenge us to keep improving. Lato continues to grow steadily, and we’ve recently moved into a bigger office. As for Wout? Safe to say, he’s not looking for a job anymore. 😉
